HAILEA WATER & NUTRIENT CHILLER

The Hailea Water Chiller is easy to use and the perfect addition to your hydroponics system to keep your nutrient solution at the optimum temperature of around 18-21C as growers can at times, overlook the importance of this crucial area.

As ambient temperatures rise during the summer months (or the buildings heating is turned up to full during winter), this can increase the temperature of the nutrient solution, if it gets too warm, it can be an ideal breeding ground for Algae, which also reduces the amount of oxygen in the solution. This can lead to unhealthy plants with poor yields, or in a worse case scenario, root diseases such Pythium could potentially develop leaving you with no option but to cull your plants before the harvest date.

Now cooling your nutrient solution couldn’t be easier with the Hailea Water Chiller, it works by pumping the solution through a cooling unit, the temperature for which is set on the easy to use LED control panel, this then cools the solution, giving you peace of mind that your feed will be at the ideal temperature as well as algae and disease free.

The Hailea Water Chiller is a robust piece of kit, made to a contemporary design with a strong, hard wearing metal chassis and case, it also features a compressor protection system, which will automatically shut down chiller when it becomes overloaded to prevent the motor from burning out. The noise levels that emit from the Hailea Water Chiller are low, it also has an anti-corrosive pure titanium evaporator so can be used with fresh and salt water while the refrigerant used is the environmentally friendly R134a.

How to Use

To select the right Chiller for your equipment, find the total capacity in litres of your system (this is normally the size of the reservoir). If the capacity of the chiller exceeds your systems total capacity, the chiller will perform perfectly and be cheaper to run. we recommend buying a larger chiller than you need to achieve your target temps quicker.

 

Keep chillers outside of the growing space as the unit warms up while cooling the water, if it was inside your space it could heat up the air, increasing ambient temperatures.

 

We also recommend you install a barbed inline filter to remove particulates from the water and prevent the lines from being clogged.

 

You should clean your chiller every cycle. You can do this by circulating your normal cleaning solution through the chiller and wiping it down externally. Remember to run clean water through the chiller before you put any plants back into the system.

 

Hailea chillers are air cooled and have an air filter. we recommend cleaning this filter once a cycle to ensure efficiencies.

 

Ideally, your chiller would be outside the growing environment, If you must have it inside your garden, leave plenty of space around it for proper air exchange.
