AC Infinity Terraform 9 – Smart Grow Room Climate Control

The AC Infinity Terraform 9 is a combined climate-control system for growers who need more than simple extraction. It can cool, heat, dehumidify and circulate air while monitoring temperature, humidity and VPD.

By bringing several climate functions into one portable unit, Terraform 9 can help maintain a steadier growing environment throughout the year. It is suitable for larger tents, dedicated grow rooms and lung-room installations where lighting and equipment create a significant heat or moisture load.

Please note: this product is purchased to order, so extended delivery times may apply.

Why climate control matters

Grow lights, drivers and other electrical equipment add heat to the room, while plants release moisture as they transpire. Outside temperatures can also change quickly, particularly between lights-on and lights-off periods.

A room may therefore need cooling during the day, heating later at night and moisture control as the plants become larger. Terraform 9 combines these functions so the environment can be managed from one coordinated system.

More than an air conditioner

Terraform 9 can operate as an air conditioner, but its wider purpose is to manage the growing environment as conditions change.

  • Cooling mode: removes excess heat from lighting, equipment and warm room conditions.
  • Heating mode: helps prevent temperatures falling too low during colder periods.
  • Dehumidification: removes moisture when humidity becomes difficult to control.
  • Fan mode: circulates air without active heating or cooling.
  • VPD control: considers temperature and humidity together to help manage plant transpiration.

Single-duct cooling and heating

Normal cooling, heating and fan operation can use the standard single-duct arrangement. This makes the system easier to install when the room needs cooling during lights-on but additional warmth after the lights go out.

The unit can respond around your chosen environmental targets rather than requiring separate appliances to be manually adjusted as conditions change.

Dedicated dehumidification mode

Terraform 9 uses a different duct arrangement when dedicated dehumidification is required. Targeted moisture removal uses a manually configured two-duct setup, so suitable duct routes should be planned before installation.

Temperature, humidity and VPD control

Terraform 9 provides more than a basic thermostat. Its control system can work around temperature, humidity and VPD targets, while the 10 output levels allow the unit to respond more gradually.

VPD, or vapour pressure deficit, combines temperature and humidity into a reading that reflects how easily plants can release moisture. This gives growers another useful measurement when fine-tuning the environment.

AC Infinity UIS integration

Terraform 9 can run as a standalone climate-control unit, or it can be connected to compatible AC Infinity UIS equipment. With a suitable controller, you may be able to use:

  • WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity
  • Remote viewing through the AC Infinity app
  • Temperature and humidity automations
  • VPD-based programming
  • Schedules and environmental programmes
  • Minimum and maximum output settings
  • Live readings and historical charts
  • Alerts and notifications
  • Coordination with compatible extraction, circulation and lighting equipment

Direct-to-tent or lung-room installation

Terraform 9 can supply conditioned air directly to a tent or growing area, or it can be used to condition the surrounding room before air enters the tent.

A lung-room arrangement can be useful in larger installations because the incoming air is brought closer to the desired temperature and humidity before it reaches the plants. The best configuration depends on room size, insulation, extraction rate, heat load and the way the growing area is supplied with air.

Room pressure options

The ducting arrangement gives experienced growers flexibility when designing airflow. Depending on the intake, conditioned-air supply and extraction setup, Terraform 9 can form part of a positive, neutral or negative-pressure room.

Where carbon-filtered extraction is also being used, both systems should be planned together so they support the same airflow strategy.

Recommended growing area

The Terraform platform is commonly used in areas up to approximately 3m x 3m / 10ft x 10ft. Actual performance depends on the total heat and moisture load rather than tent dimensions alone.

Consider the following before choosing your climate-control setup:

  • Total LED and electrical equipment wattage
  • Heat produced by drivers and other equipment
  • Temperature of the surrounding room
  • Insulation and air leakage
  • Extraction rate and intake temperature
  • Humidity load and plant transpiration
  • Whether the unit is conditioning the tent or a lung room

A 3m x 3m room with a low equipment load will place very different demands on the unit compared with the same-sized room running several kilowatts of lighting in summer.

Condensate management

Cooling and dehumidification naturally create condensation. Terraform 9 uses a self-evaporating system that sends some of the collected moisture towards the condenser, reducing the need for frequent manual emptying.

Drainage requirements can still vary depending on humidity, room conditions and the operating mode selected.

Installation guidance

  1. Place the unit on a flat, stable surface with clear space around the air inlets and outlets.
  2. Plan the conditioned-air duct route before positioning the unit.
  3. Provide a suitable route for displaced air to leave the growing area.
  4. Arrange the extraction and intake system so it complements Terraform operation.
  5. Position the environmental sensor around canopy height, away from the conditioned-air outlet.
  6. Set your preferred temperature, humidity and VPD targets.
  7. Connect a compatible UIS controller if wider automation and app access are required.
  8. Use the two-duct arrangement when running dedicated dehumidification mode.

Who is Terraform 9 suitable for?

  • Growers dealing with excessive heat during warmer weather
  • Year-round indoor growers who need both cooling and heating
  • High-powered LED installations

Frequently asked questions

What does Terraform 9 do?

It combines active cooling, heating, dehumidification and air circulation with smart temperature, humidity and VPD control.

Can Terraform 9 heat as well as cool?

Yes. The UK/EU AC-ACN9 model provides approximately 2.6kW of cooling capacity and 2.1kW of heating capacity.

Can it control VPD?

Yes. Terraform 9 can use temperature, humidity and VPD targets as part of its environmental control settings.

Do I need an AC Infinity controller?

The unit includes its own climate-control functions. A compatible UIS controller can add wider ecosystem integration, remote monitoring, schedules and additional automation.

Does it always need two ducts?

No. Standard cooling, heating and fan operation use the single-duct arrangement. Dedicated dehumidification requires the manually configured two-duct setup.

Is this the UK/EU model?

Yes. Terraform 9 / AC-ACN9 is designed for UK and European 220–240V, 50Hz power supplies.

Will it replace an extraction fan?

Not in every installation. Terraform conditions the air, while extraction may still be required for air exchange and carbon filtration. The correct arrangement depends on the room design.

Tip: size the unit according to your lighting heat load, equipment, surrounding room temperature and humidity rather than relying on tent dimensions alone. Position the sensor around canopy height and away from the conditioned-air outlet for more representative readings.
