Returns & Refund Policy
At Manchester Hydroponics LTD, we aim to supply quality products and excellent customer service. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, this policy explains your rights and our returns procedure.
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
Returning an Item
Before returning any item, please contact Manchester Hydroponics to obtain a Returns Authorisation (RA) or approval from our customer service team.
Returns sent without prior authorisation may be refused or delayed while we establish the reason for the return.
Please do not return any goods until you have received return instructions from us.
Change of Mind Returns
If you have purchased goods online, you generally have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.
If you wish to cancel your order:
- You must notify us within 14 days of receiving your order.
- Returned goods should be sent back within 14 days of notifying us.
- Items must be unused and in a resaleable condition.
- Products should be returned with all original packaging, accessories, manuals and components where possible.
Customers are responsible for the cost of returning unwanted items unless otherwise required by law.
We strongly recommend using a tracked and insured delivery service, as returned goods remain the customer’s responsibility until safely received by Manchester Hydroponics.
Condition of Returned Goods
Returned products must be:
- Clean and unused.
- Complete with all supplied accessories.
- In their original packaging where reasonably possible.
- Properly packaged to prevent damage during transit.
You may inspect goods as you would in a retail shop, but if items have been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics or functioning, we may reduce any refund to reflect any loss in value where permitted by law.
Items We Cannot Normally Accept for Return
Unless faulty or supplied in error, we cannot normally accept returns of:
- Products that have been installed or used.
- Opened nutrient bottles, additives or pH solutions.
- Opened grow media or other consumable products.
- Products made to order or specially ordered at the customer’s request.
- Customised or personalised products.
- Items that have been modified, damaged or altered after delivery.
- Products returned incomplete or with missing parts where this affects their resale value.
This does not affect your statutory rights if goods are faulty or not as described.
Electrical Equipment
Many of our products are electrical and should be inspected carefully before installation.
Electrical equipment that has been installed, modified, incorrectly wired, misused or damaged after delivery may not qualify for a refund unless a manufacturing fault is confirmed.
Where appropriate, we may ask for photographs, videos or for the item to be returned for inspection before agreeing to a repair, replacement or refund.
Faulty or Damaged Goods
If your order arrives damaged or you believe a product is faulty, please contact us as soon as possible.
To help us resolve the issue quickly, please provide:
- Your order number.
- A description of the problem.
- Photographs of the product and packaging where applicable.
We will assess the issue and, where appropriate, arrange a repair, replacement or refund in accordance with your statutory rights.
Incorrect Items
If you receive an incorrect product, please contact us as soon as possible.
We will arrange the return of the incorrect item and ensure the correct product is supplied promptly.
Inspection of Returns
All returned items are inspected upon arrival before any refund, replacement or exchange is authorised.
Where a returned item does not meet the conditions outlined in this policy, we will contact you to discuss the available options.
Refunds
Once your return has been received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome.
Approved refunds will be issued to your original payment method.
Please allow a reasonable period for your payment provider to process the refund.
Delivery Charges
Where you are exercising your legal right to cancel an order under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, we will refund the standard outbound delivery charge where required by law.
If you selected a premium or upgraded delivery service, any additional delivery costs above the standard delivery option are not refundable.
If a return is due to a faulty product or an error on our part, we will deal with the matter in accordance with your statutory rights.
Refused Deliveries
If you are unable to accept delivery, please contact us as soon as possible.
Customers should not refuse delivery without first contacting Manchester Hydroponics.
Where a parcel is refused without prior agreement and return charges are incurred, we reserve the right, where permitted by law, to deduct those costs from any refund.
Packaging Your Return
Please ensure all returned goods are packaged securely.
Manchester Hydroponics cannot accept responsibility for items damaged during return transit due to inadequate packaging.
Your Consumer Rights
Nothing within this Returns & Refund Policy excludes or limits your statutory rights under applicable UK consumer legislation.
